Sequence Databases
Genbank is the NIH genetic sequence database, an annotated collection of all publicly available DNA sequences ( Nucleic Acids Research 2004 Jan 1;32(1):23-6 ). There are approximately 37,893,844,733 bases in 32,549,400 sequence records as of February 2004 (see GenBank growth statistics).
Swiss-Prot is a curated protein sequence database that provides a high level of annotation, a minimal level of redundancy and high level of integration with other databases.
Protein Data Bank is the single worldwide repository for the processing and distribution of 3-D structure data of large molecules of proteins and nucleic acids.
The TimeTree database uses a hierarchical system to identify all published molecular time estimates bearing on the divergence of two taxa (e.g., species).
